Egypt
visit - Opportunity for young leaders
In recent years, the World Mission Fund Committee has sent young
leaders around the world to follow the progress of the project for that
year. These places have included Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Czech Republic and,
most recently, Bangladesh. This has allowed BB young people to see
first-hand where and how funds raised BB companies is being spent - and gain an
international experience like no other.
This year we are looking to send at least two young leaders to visit the
current project in Cairo. This funded opportunity will allow you to see
first-hand how the fundraising will be supporting refugee children.
You can apply to go to Cairo as long as you meet the following criteria:
- You are a registered BB Officer between the ages of 18 and 25
- You are prepared to represent BB Scotland
- You are outgoing and enjoy taking the initiative
- You are prepared to travel overseas in August 2018
- You have a valid UK passport
To apply for this amazing opportunity, we are looking for you to write a short piece of writing (max 250 words) or produce video/sound clip (max two minutes), saying why you wished to apply and how people (in Scotland & in Egypt) would benefit from your involvement. Those short-listed will be invited to interviews in April.
If interested, please send your application to Rhona Drummond rhona.drummond@boys-brigade.org.uk by Friday 16th March. Please make subject of the email 'WMF Playground' and include your age and contact telephone number.
BB Scotland appreciates that there have been security concerns around travel to certain areas of Egypt. The CoS World Mission team, along with BB Scotland, will ensure that we adhere to advice given to us by local partners as well as the FCO.
